Services
Organizing services with categories
Group services into categories, use the All view, quick add, search, and setup banner.
Categories group your services into sections so both you and your customers can find things faster. Every business starts with a single system category called All, which acts as a roll-up of every service you offer. You can add as many custom categories as you like — for example, Hair, Color, Nails, Add-ons.
The All category
- Auto-created for every business — you never have to add it.
- Cannot be deleted or renamed. It's a safety bucket so you always have a valid home for any service.
- Shows every service across every category. Even a service you filed under Hair or Nails will also appear in All, so it works as a complete catalog view.
- New services that don't specify a category land in All by default.
Add a category
- Go to Admin → Services.
- Click New Category at the top of the page.
- Give it a short, descriptive name (up to 60 characters).
- Optionally set a description, color, or icon.
- Click Create.
Category names must be unique within your business (case-insensitive).
Add services into a category
Two ways to add a service directly into a category:
- Quick add row — at the bottom of each category section, type a name, pick a duration, enter a price, and press Add. The service is created with sensible defaults (free / manual refund / 24-hour cancellation) and you can keep typing more services back-to-back without leaving the page.
- Add service — opens the full editor with fields for description, staff assignment, service window, payment policy, and more. The category is pre-selected for you.
Move a service between categories
- Click the service to open the edit modal.
- Change the Category dropdown to the new category.
- Click Save.
Moving a service does not affect bookings, staff assignments, price, or the service's public URL.
Search across categories
Use the search bar above the categories to find a service by name or description. Matches appear under their real category and under All, so you never lose sight of where a service lives.
Collapse and expand sections
Each category is an accordion — tap the header to collapse or expand it. Your preferences are remembered on this device, so the page opens in the same shape next time you visit.
Delete a category
- Open the category and click Edit.
- Choose Delete category.
- If the category still has services, pick another category to move them into. Deletion is blocked otherwise so services are never orphaned.
The system All category cannot be deleted.
The setup suggestion banner
If you have a handful of services all still sitting in All, we'll show a one-time banner suggesting you organize them into categories. You can:
- Organize services — jump straight to the new-category form.
- Dismiss — hides it for this browser session only.
- Don't show again — hides it business-wide for everyone.
What customers see
- If you only use the default All category (no custom categories), your booking page shows a flat list of services — no headers, no accordions.
- With 2 or 3 categories, every section is expanded by default so customers can scan everything at a glance.
- With 4 or more categories, sections start collapsed so the page stays scannable; customers tap a category to expand it.
- The All section on the booking page also aggregates every service, so a customer can always find a service without knowing which category it lives in.
