Activating and removing staff

Deactivate a staff member or remove them from the business.

Activating and deactivating staff is the recommended way to manage who's currently working at your business. It preserves history without removing anyone from your records.

Deactivating

  1. Open Staff.
  2. Click the staff member.
  3. Click Deactivate.

What happens immediately:

  • They can no longer sign in to your business.
  • They're removed from the public booking page.
  • Their seat is freed.
  • Existing bookings stay intact — past bookings remain in your history.
Future bookings assigned to a deactivated staff member need to be reassigned manually. The schedule will flag them so you can decide who takes over.

Reactivating

From Staff → Inactive, click the person and choose Reactivate. They get access back instantly. If you're at the seat limit you'll need to deactivate someone else or upgrade first — see Staff seat limits.

Removing entirely

Removing a staff member is irreversible. Their past bookings remain in your records but the link to their profile is broken — those bookings will show as assigned to a removed staff member. We recommend deactivating instead unless you're cleaning up an erroneous invite.

When to use which

  • Deactivate — temporary leave, contractor between gigs, end of season.
  • Remove — invite sent to wrong person, never accepted, or you need to free the email for a different role.
